Beach Lovers in a NutShell

Ft. Lauderdale is known for its great beaches. In fact, Ft. Lauderdale's beaches are the main attraction in this once-haven for spring breakers.
Ft. Lauderdale's beaches are divided according to location. There's Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, the Northern Beaches and the Southern Beaches. Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is situated on the northern end of Ft. Lauderdale. This spot is perfect for family vacationers as its small, quaint and usually quiet. There are dozens of small hotels and B&Bs in this area of Ft. Lauderdale, including A Sea Garden Motel, Villas by the Sea and the Sea Gull Resort Motel.

Ft. Lauderdale's Southern Beach area is considered anything south of Sunrise Blvd. This part of the city is great for solo travelers, business travelers, leisure travelers and basically anyone looking for great restaurants, shopping and nightlife. Hotels in this section of Ft. Lauderdale include the Tropi Rock Resort.

The Northern Beach area is situated between Oakland Park and Sunrise Blvds. This area of the beach is one of the most famous for leisure travelers as it's quiet and separated from most of the active sections of the beach. Travelers to Ft. Lauderdale's Northern Beach will enjoy Birch State Park, where visitors can enjoy nature hikes, canoe trips and picnicking along the Intracoastal Waterway.
